Yesterday I wrote about how personal growth can quietly reshape our closest relationships - and how unexpectedly lonely that can feel.
After I published this post, the conversation didn’t end.
Later in the day, my beloved Eoin Scolard and I found ourselves sitting in the garden, continuing the reflection. Not as coaches or teachers. Not as anything polished or prepared. Just two people who have been growing alongside each other for 16 years.
Growth does not always mean growing apart.
But it does ask something of our relationships.
It can stretch old dynamics.
It can surface unspoken expectations.
It can create moments where we feel ahead, behind, or simply different.
And sometimes, even in strong and loving partnerships, there are seasons of recalibration.
This conversation felt like a natural extension of yesterday’s piece - less structured, more relational. So I hope you don’t mind me sharing it here.
If you haven’t read the original reflection yet, you can find it here.
And if you have, I’d love to know:
Have you experienced growth as something that reshaped the space between you and someone you love?
What did it ask of you?
If this reflection resonated, you’re welcome to share it with someone who might need it.
