Now that Christmas is over, a quiet space often opens up for many of us.
After all the busyness of the run up to Christmas, and before the new year begins, there can be a rare pause. A moment to rest, if you can, and also a moment to reflect.
So often, we rush through this time of year as well. We move quickly from one thing to the next without really allowing ourselves to feel the resonance of this liminal space as we transition from one year into another.
I want to invite you to do something a little different this year.
Over the coming days, I’ll be sharing a series of reflections to support you in looking back at the year that’s just passed, and in gently preparing to transition into a new one.
This isn’t a time for New Year resolutions or big plans for 2026.
For me, these days are about pausing. About looking back honestly. About noticing my own growth and development over the past year.
A big year of change
For me personally, 2025 has been a very big year. And from what I see in my clients and friends, I know I’m not alone in that.
There has been so much change, both personally and collectively. The world feels less stable. Old systems are shifting. There’s a sense of unrest and transformation in the air.
Many astrologers have been speaking about this period of change for a long time. And whether or not astrology resonates for you, it’s hard to deny that something significant is unfolding.
This year has asked a lot.
This time last year, I was preparing to travel to India to host a retreat. It was my first time there, and I was responsible for a group of twenty eight people. It felt like a huge undertaking.
Two weeks before travelling, I became very ill. So ill that I barely remember the journey itself. The flight from London to Chennai is mostly a blur.
And yet, I arrived. The retreat was extraordinary. India was extraordinary. And I came home feeling deeply changed by the experience.
That shift created a ripple effect that moved through the rest of the year.
Not long after, I realised I was being asked to let go of something that had been very dear to me. A professional role that had defined a large part of my life for six years. A role working closely with my spiritual teacher and managing the day to day running of her organisation.
It became clear that this role was no longer fully congruent with what I was being called to do in my own life.
Letting go of that was enormous. It meant having a very honest conversation with someone I cared deeply about. It meant stepping away from something meaningful and familiar, and allowing both of us to continue on separate paths.
That transition carried me through the summer.
At the end of August, I returned fully to my coaching work and began rebuilding and reshaping my business. And as the year continued, it became clear that I was also being asked to let go of anything I had been using as a crutch. Anything that numbed me or kept me from fully meeting my life.
Since the end of September, I’ve been alcohol and pot free.
It’s been an extraordinary year. A challenging one. And a deeply clarifying one.
Three questions for this in-between time
I want to leave you with three questions which you might like to write down and journal with - or simply reflect on them quietly over the coming days. You could even take them out for a walk and let them move through you that way.
I’m simply offering them as seeds, and trusting that whatever needs to sprout will do so in its own time.
🌙What have you learned from 2025?
Not information or knowledge, but about yourself. About your own growth and development.
🌙What did this past year ask of you?
What qualities were being called forth in you? Courage, patience, trust, resilience, softness, compassion, acceptance?
🌙What do you feel you’ve been carrying throughout this year that you do not want to carry into 2026?
What are you ready to lay down?
Take your time with these questions. I would love to hear your responses in the chat thread…
My hope is that these questions will illuminate something meaningful for you, and help you move into the year ahead in a gentler, clearer, and more focused way.
If you find yourself wanting support as you move into the year ahead, I’m holding a few different spaces in January -
